ParetoLogic Wins VIATEC Community Involvement Award

With its focus on children and family, ParetoLogic has been honoured for its charity work and community involvement.

June 6, 2017  Innovative technology company ParetoLogic was honoured this past week for its ongoing community involvement.

At the 16th annual VIATEC Technology Awards, ParetoLogic  received the Community Involvement Award. New to the awards roster this year, the Victoria Innovation, Advanced Technology Entrepreneurship Council recognized ParetoLogic’s support of 11 separate causes and initiatives this past year.

“Our sincere thanks go out to VIATEC for this great honor.” ParetoLogic office manager Marlee Wilson, a key player in the company’s community involvement, said in an acceptance speech at the VIATEC Technology Awards. “The Community Involvement Award means more to us than any other award we have received in the past because of the immense joy we feel in providing love, compassion and support to those in need.”

ParetoLogic received its award at a gala celebrating the achievements of the technology companies that have made Greater Victoria the fastest growing technology region in British Columbia. Since its founding, ParetoLogic has strived to give back.

Wilson was one of the company’s first employees 12 years ago. She said that since day one the company has been focused on family. This path was set by the co-founding Pereira and Wharton families and has been carried on by them, the executives, and staff.

“Our wish is to improve the lives of children and families both here in BC and around the globe,” Wilson said.

While being serious about supporting good causes, ParetoLogic has always tried to incorporate an element of fun into their fundraising and giving. There was head shaving for Cops for Cancer, co-founder Elton Pereira diving into the Gorge Waterway in the winter for Power to Be Adventure Therapy, “pie the executives” fundraiser, bake sales, penny wars, lawn bowling, and many more.

“Through all the crazy, fun and downright insane things that we’ve done over the years to support the community, our family at ParetoLogic has been 110 per cent behind us all the way! Our team is passionate about helping others and that will always be a part of our DNA,” Wilson said.

During this past year, ParetoLogic has thrown its support behind:

  • Canadian Blood Service
  • Our Place Society
  • BC Children’s Hospital
  • Canadian Red Cross
  • World Vision
  • CFAX Santa’s Anonymous
  • Dragonfly Pond Family Society
  • Mustard Seed Food Bank
  • Journey – Build Houses in Mexico
  • Edward and Maggie Pires Center
