Scan
You can select the items that you want to scan before initiating the scanning process. After the scan is complete you can then remove the items.
Select What to Scan
Before you initiate a scan we recommend that you select the items that you want to scan.
To choose what items to scan, do the following:
- In the Main window, select Settings.
- Check the items you want to scan.
| Item to Scan | Description |
| Start scanning when program loads | Performs a scan as soon as you start the program. |
| Scan U3 device | Scans the U3 device for any known malware threats. |
| Scan processes and registry | Scans the local computer's processes and registry values that are known spyware threats. The active processes are tasks created from applications or the operating system that run in the background. |
| Scan system folders | Scans the Windows system folders on the local computer for any known spyware threats. |
| Scan local computer folders | Scans the selected folders on the local computer. You can select what folders to scan. Click the Folders button and check the folders you want included in the scan. |
Start the Scan
Once you have selected what items you want to scan, you can start the scan.
To start the scan:
- In the left panel of the Main window click Scan.
- Click the Start Scan button.
Stop the Scan
During the scan you have the option of stopping the scan. If you do not stop the scan, the current scan is displayed. When finished a list of all identified issues is displayed.
To stop the scan and return to the previous step:
- Click the Cancel button.
- Click the Finish button.
Scan Results
When the scan is complete there is a summary of the scanned items. A list is displayed with any items that are detected for removal. These items are by default selected to be removed. You can get more information on any of the detected items.
To view details of an item:
Click the View Details link in the Characteristics column.
Your web browser is opened to a site with information on the item. After viewing the information you can proceed with the removal process.
