Toolbar

After you successfully install the application, ParetoLogic Spam Controls runs every time you open your email application. The ParetoLogic Spam Controls toolbar seen here is automatically integrated with your email application. For more information on integration settings see Options. Microsoft Outlook offers the option to hide toolbars as described below.

Windows Mail

The Spam Controls toolbar is added to Windows Mail and appears as seen here:

Toolbar Buttons

The toolbar buttons are as follows:

Email Actions

ParetoLogic

Links to the ParetoLogic web page.

Scan

Scans all emails in the selected folder to identify spam emails. A dialog appears and you choose to scan subfolders.

Spam / Not Spam

 

The Spam button moves the selected email to the PL Spam Controls folder. A dialog appears giving you options to add the sender of the email to the Block List or report the email as Spam to improve the Spam detection process.

The Not Spam button moves the selected email from the PL Spam Controls folder to the original location in the Inbox.

Purge

Deletes all items in the PL Spam Controls folder. Purged items are permanently deleted.

Sender Actions:

Block Sender / Remove from Block

 

Adds the sender of the email to the Block List.

Removes the sender from the Block List.

Allow Sender / Remove from Allow

 

Adds the sender of the email to the Allow List.

Removes the sender from the Allow List.

Other:

Options

Brings up the Options dialog where you can configure program options. You can also view and configure other pages including Block List, Allow List, and the Home and About page.

Help

Opens this Help file.

Hiding the Toolbar in Outlook

You can hide the ParetoLogic Spam Controls toolbar in Outlook.

To hide the toolbar do the following:

  1. From the Outlook menu bar, select View | Toolbars.
  2. Select the Spam Controls option to clear it from the list.

Note: When you hide the Spam Controls toolbar you are not disabling the functionality of the program. Spam detection and other functionality remains intact. See Launch, Disable, and Restore for more information.
