Settings
There are settings that you can configure to customize how you use ParetoLogic Anti-Spyware. These include Custom Scan options and General options.
To view the settings do the following:
In the top-right corner of the Main window click Settings.
Custom Scan Options
You can select what items you want to scan. For more information, see Starting a Scan. By default, all items are selected to be scanned including processes, registry, system folders, host file, and the computer hard drive. You can also choose to scan any external drives that are connected.
General Options
You can view and configure the General option settings. This includes both general settings and automatic update options. To manually check for updates see About Page.
To open the General Options settings:
Click the Settings link in the Main window and then select General Options in the left pane.
Update options include both database and program update settings. You can receive automatic product and database updates.
Database Update Options
By default, ParetoLogic Anti-Spyware will automatically check for updates every time it is launched. If there is an update available, it will ask you if you want to download the update. There are automatic settings that you can configure for receiving database updates.
To turn off automatic database updates:
In the General Options page, clear the Automatically check for database updates option.
By default you will automatically receive prompts asking if you want to proceed with a database update.
To turn off receiving prompts before downloading the updates:
In the General Options page, clear the Ask before downloading database updates option.
Program Update Options
You can configure the Program Update settings so that your ParetoLogic applications will behave in the same way.
To begin do the following:
- In the General Options page, click the Configure Program Updates Options button.
- Configure the ParetoLogic Update Options settings.
- Click OK.
You can get more assistance on the Update Option settings by clicking the Help button or pressing the F1 key. This will launch the Update Options help file.
