The RatedXXX program is detected as dialer that redirects users to a compromised porn site.
Reports describe the RatedXXX application as a computer program that can make unauthorized phone calls. This process is done anonymously to the victim. This application will also produce the following files:
According to some reports, the RatedXXX application will exploit the affected computer to create costly phone calls to long distance numbers and pay-per-minute phone services. Moreover, the user can be redirected to adult sites in the Internet. This will automatically yet illicitly charge anyone who will access their sites. The affected user will be charged on his next phone bill. Reports state that owners of these so-called adult websites are the instigators of this kind of application for their own benefit. Providers of this application often seek out programming loopholes in the Operating System of potential victims.
When the RatedXXX application is dropped into a target Operating System, there will be no immediate notice that the application is already installed. Given its hidden mode, the application will now generate unwanted connections by itself. Whenever the user will surf the Web, he will be redirected to unwanted sites specifically adult sites that require payments.
