ParetoLogic launches free PGsurfer software to help keep Internet waves safe
The Internet has become an important part of the lives of today's young people. But is it safe? In 2006, more than 85 per cent of all teenagers were using the Internet and at any given time there were 50,000 predators online, according to TV news magazine Dateline. In an effort to make the Internet a better place for youth, ParetoLogic is launching PGsurfer. This software was created to help parents protect their children online. Deciding not to profit on children's safety, the young, family-oriented company is excited to offer PGsurfer free of charge. Click here, to get a look at this exciting, free software....
"We have been fortunate enough to have experienced great success with our other products and we are really pleased to be able to offer this product to caregivers and parents free of charge," said ParetoLogic CEO and co-founder Elton Pereira. "This is the most rewarding application of our skills and knowledge bar none, and it is one that is close to the hearts of our staff."
PGsurfer is a powerful tool that parents can use to help keep their children safe online. PGsurfer is content filtering software, but rather than just indiscriminately blocking sites it allows parents to establish profiles of each user so that the filtering is appropriate. It puts the power into the parents' hands.
PGsurfer — customizable to help protect all your children
PGsurfer — reports generated to keep you aware
ParetoLogic believes strongly in parental involvement when it comes to young people using the Internet. That is why PGsurfer is customizable by parents, allowing them to help guide their children's Internet use. As well, the company is launching its innovative SafeSurfer program this fall. SafeSurfer is designed to help improve online safety for young people. The multi-faceted initiative includes an exciting interactive website for children ages 8-14 and parents, community partnerships and presentations at Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings on Vancouver Island, where ParetoLogic is based.
PGsurfer has a number of features that can assist parents in making the Internet safer for surfing. The easy-to-use software allows you to establish a profile for each child and it can be used to limit their computer usage as well as their surfing. PGsurfer can restrict access by filtering for such content as adult and sexually oriented websites, drugs, weapons, illegal activities, hate and gambling. As well, it can block Instant Messaging, chat rooms, peer-to-peer downloading networks and email. PGsurfer can also stop the installation of applications for these purposes.
Automatic weekly summaries are generated to report what keywords, sites and applications were blocked. Manual reports can also be generated based on specific dates. PGsurfer can also help keep your computer safe. It can prevent the downloading of applications or files that might be illegal or contain viruses.
