Vancouver Island technology community honours ParetoLogic's XOFTspy Portable Anti-Spyware
Victoria, B.C. June 12, 2007 - While celebrating its new ranking as Greater Victoria's top revenue generating sector, the Vancouver Island technology community recognized ParetoLogic for one of its latest innovative products.
XOFTspy Portable Anti-Spyware, the world's first portable anti-spyware application, earned ParetoLogic the award for Innovative Excellence: Software or Electronic Service Delivery at the Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Centre's annual VIATeC Technology Awards May 23. ParetoLogic has established its reputation as a leader in the industry with such popular products as RegCure Registry Cleaner and ParetoLogic Anti-Spyware.
"We are very pleased to be recognized by VIATeC and to be part of Vancouver Island's thriving advanced technology sector," said Adrian Pereira, ParetoLogic's Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder. "It took a big team effort to develop XOFTspy Portable. We are very proud of it.
"We are constantly working hard to create innovative products that provide Internet security and enhance people's computing experiences. We have some very exciting initiatives coming up."
The VIATeC Technology Awards were a celebratory affair with nearly 500 people in attendance waving "We're # 1" oversized foam fingers. The eye-catching orange fingers celebrated a recent report confirming that Greater Victoria's advanced technology sector is the region's largest revenue generator. The report states the tech sector generates annual revenues of $1.67, surpassing previous frontrunner tourism.
"The VIATeC Technology Awards really has very little to do with selecting winners - it's more about recognizing companies that deserve some recognition for a lot of hard work," said Dan Gunn, VIATeC Executive Director, said in a prepared statement. "The point is always to get together and celebrate our successes and cheer each other on but this year is particularly special because of what has been accomplished."
This VIATeC honour is the second in as many months for Xoftspy Portable Anti-Spyware. In April, it earned the Innovation Award at the 2007 Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce Business Awards Gala. In an unprecedented double win for ParetoLogic, CEO and Co-Founder Elton Pereira was recognized at the gala as the Great Victoria Chamber of Commerce’s Entrepreneur of the Year.
XOFTspy Portable Anti-Spyware operates from a portable U3 Smart Drive and allows users to ensure whatever PC they are working on is protected. Once launched, it scans deeply to find and remove threats. XOFTspy Portable Anti-Spyware protects the U3 Smart Drive it is on and is small enough that other files can be stored on the same drive.
